Amphy Calma, BSc., RMT, CLT – Clinic Director

The driving force behind the Alberta Laser Rehabilitation Centre, Amphy Calma has been a Certified Laser Therapist (CLT) since 2005. She was one of the first laser therapists to operate in Calgary and maintains her passion for her work through the success rates of her clients’ rehabilitation, which she measures at about 90%. Amphy also has a physical therapy degree from the Philippines and is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) specializing in LENSEN™ techniques. LENSEN™ works to painlessly realign joints, bones and tissue to restore normal, pain-free range of motion. And at present, she is back to school and taking Manual Osteopathy to add to her tools helping her patients.

Owning her own clinic was a dream of Amphy’s for many years that she was proud to realize in 2008 through the establishment of her first clinic, the ATA Pain Rehabilitation Laser Therapy Centre, in Calgary. Named after Amphy and her two sisters Tita and Alma (ATA), the clinic administered more than 45,000 individualized and customized treatments in its nine years. She was once a director on the board of the Peace for Paul Foundation, a charity operating children’s homes in Uganda, and personally assisted a Ugandan child into the program while on a trip to the country.

In 2015, Amphy was a finalist in the RBC’s Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards. She has been in Canada for 18 years and is married with a daughter. Amphy is known for her compassion for her clients, her drive to see them reduce their pain and improve their well-being, and her commitment to providing superior treatment services at all times.

Kathleen Rothe – Office Administrator

Kathleen discovered the ALRC when she brought her son in for the laser treatment of Achilles Tendinitis. She is now the office administrator. She’ll most likely be the first voice you hear when you call, and she’s in charge of anything you need, from providing information on what we do at our clinic to booking your treatment sessions and billing. We’re also very lucky to also have her as our office chef. Her teenage athletic twins keep her and her husband busy at all times, and she is a Calgary Stampeders fanatic. She is passionate about what she does and is very approachable and reliable. Kathleen is excited to be a part of the ALRC Team and looks forward to welcoming you to our clinic.
